Thanks, Paul for sharing the info about the Bicycle Helmet Safety
Institute. Folks on the list might want to pay special attention to the
page on inexpensive helmets http://www.bhsi.org/webdocs/cheapies.htm It
shows that even inexpensive helmets meet the safety standards, in other
words, cost is no excuse for not wearking a helmet! You don't get more
safety for more $$$, just better styling and a bit more comfortable helmet.
On the other hand, those extra $$$ might be worth it if they mean the
difference between a helmet that's worn all the time versus one that's worn
when required (like for a Scout event) then put away to gather dust.
