Date: Tue May 16 2000 - 04:59:04 CDT

I've been asked to re-introduce myself by one of the list-minders so here
goes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I am Phil Abbey. Currently I am the Friend and Counselor (SM is the working
title) of the Alexandria, Egypt, Lone Scouts. We are a tiny but active unit
registered with Direct Service Council in Irving, Texas. I have been
involved with Scouting in one way or another since becoming a Cub Scout in
1956. This has taken me through all the ranks of Cubs and Scouts. Some of
you may remember when WeBeLo was the contraction for Wolf-Bear-Lion.

The eldest Scout (17) recently completed his Eagle Board of Review. That is
a first in recent history for Alexandria. The younger scout (14) is a Star
Scout with Life completed except for service time.

I am an Eagle Scout, Class of 1965. I have been an ASM or CM in five
different troops, SM three times in two troops and a permanent fixture as a
merit badge counselor for 30 years in five different councils on three
continents.

All of you are invited to surf on over to our website and see what we have
been doing since September, 1999. That url is down in the signature block
somewhere. We are always happy to answer questions about Scouting or
Alexandria.

Yours in Scouting,

Phil Abbey
