Lynn,
A call-out is not required. If your son was elected there are any number
of ways that he can be informed of that fact, the simplest and quickest being
told by the SM the evening of the election. We're going to have a call-out
at our district camporee this year, but the boys will have already received a
letter from the lodge informing them of the dates and locations of all the
chapter-run Ordeal weekends, any one of which they may choose to attend. Our
call-out will simply be an impressive formality, complete with the ceremonies
team in full regalia. Your council calendar should indicate what weekend(s)
will be used for OA Ordeals; if your son has not heard from the lodge, then
contact the council office and ask for the name and number of the chapter
advisor; as others have suggested, it may be simply a paperwork error.
