I think we ALL must be careful not to JUDGE any such situations
that we do not have 1) first hand knowlege about and 2) all the
   facts!

As a unit comissioner - I have seen times that a Comittee DID
need to take over control from a UNTI leader. I have also seen
UNTRAINED parents - ACTING - as the committee - try to take over
a unit and RUN IT the way the parents wanted - which was NOT
   the scouting way!

This goes back to my recent posting about training! Most important
for parents who have been active in a CUB program and are NEW to
scouting! CUB parents may THINK they have been trained! The
scout program is NOT the same. SCOUTS run the scouting program.
Not the SM and NOT the committee! The SM trys to keep the scouts
on track, and the committee SHOULD be supporting the SM and the
scouts. Scouts MAY fail! Scouts may be disorganized! Scouts
are mostly boys - learning to be young men and future leaders.

They are NOT instant leaders because they NOW have a scout
uniform. Some scout masters become dictators and talk about
"MY TROOP" ! It is NOT YOUR troop! It is NOT the parents
troop! I once again encourge ALL parents and ALL leaders
to attend CURRENT training! Even if you did SMF 5 years ago,
please consider it again! Or consider Wood Badge - or
consider helping out on the training staff. I myself
really "learned" more as a wood badge staffer than I have
as a "participant" in ANY training program - in scouts OR
   professional life.

Scouter Don
You can NEVER be over trained !
