I think this qulaifies.
1. Object has to be constructed using lashings and wood for all main parts,
although a pie plate is allowed
2. base must must fit inside a sized footprint
3. must hurl water balloons at "Scoutmaster" of the WB course who was
reputed to be sitting in a lawn chair
its a catapult or trebuchet (see last month's Smithsonian)
We had quite a few interesting constructions and loads of fun
our SM "cheated" and brought a tennis raquet (for return volleys) and got
out of the lawn chair, but stayed inside a general target zone
a model can be constructed out of pencils and string - very instructuve
