Cheryl -
soory -don't accept this "fairy tale"; I ' ve been in this military
roundabout and quite frankly, it doesn't have to occur this way!
if stateside, the easiest and simplest thing to do is go into the
community and not stay on base;
if overseas, there are also people at other units and within the local
community who can be approved as MB counselors; so I'm sorry, your cousin
learned "a lesson" but not the right one. Its a problem too often seen in
the military - staying inside the military community for everything.
however, that isn't what was in the origional post - the origional post
said the counselor told scout and SM, UPFRONT, that he would not work beyond
a 1 yr time limit. At that point, both scout and SM could have thanked the
MB counselor and decided to select another counselor.
the badge is not that hard - it should not take a year, let alone more
than a year;
other than set a time period he has not violated any advancement precept.
my 2c worth
