John,
I certainly wouldn't think so, and it gets a bit colder a little ways up
the Hudson from you; in fact, most older Scouts don't have those sorts of
things. Many of the units up this way usually do cabins from November thru
March, anyway. Heck, it took me quite a few years to accumulate all the
necessary cold weather gear, and that's more for going out with my canoe club
than with the Scouts.
