We had a few "reitred" tents in Troop 33 that became dining flies. All we
did was take off the door flaps and the back wall and we had a kit for
putting grommets in wherever we needed them. Sure, they were heavy, but they
didn't leak and we didn't take them backpacking; these were for use around
Scout camps where we drove in to the campsite.
