Good question, and one we asked ourselves before announcing it was manditory.
Our plan was to follow up with all parents who didn't show up and have
a separate one on one meeting with them. In other words, they were
going to get the information, like it or not ;-)
Anyway, we had almost 100% attendance at the meeting, and the only ones
who were not there were real old timers who would not have learned
anything new anyway...I met briefly with them separately.
For this Spring, all Webelos parents who hope to bridge into our
troop must attend this meeting (it is happening before the bridging).
We will see how it goes.
