Last week I was able to hear Brad Harris make a presentation on the new
Venturing program. I highly recommend taking the time to hear him if you
have the opportunity. He also has a power point presentation available on
Venturing.
he commented briefly on brainstorming as part of the annual program
planning and made the point that the advisor should NOT go into the
brainstorming session with a blank piece of paper, but should already have
some ideas available for the youth to help them get going.
I have been to basic training a number of times and also read the
syllabus; I remember being told to use the technique we call
brainstorming, but never was given any specific directions on how to do it.
a. did I miss something, or were the teachers making the assumption
that everyone already knows how to conduct a brain storming session?
b. what specific things have you found helpful for getting good
results from your brain storming sessions?
