Jerry,
I don't know about the material, but the size is important. The regular
neckerchief sold as BSA style (40" X 28") are too small to be useful. They used
to be a lot larger. Our Troop has a custom made one. the size is (48" X 31").
The Larger size is useful in all the First Aid requirements, and other things.
The Size we got from an older neckerchief, that I collect.
