Police departments, the military, and others that wear uniforms define what that uniform is. The uniform proclaims their identity to the public and themselves. They do not usually allow either people so pick and choose what they think looks good and what parts of the uniform to wear. Why are we even having this discussion? The uniform is defined in the Insignia Guide. The only difference I can see in our organization and the ones I mentioned above is that we have parents involved.
