I have finished my career as a Cub Scout leader, effective last night. My
youngest son crossed the bridge, his proud dad on the Webelo side of the
bridge, me watching as his den leader with my assistant leader in the
crowd, my oldest on the receiving side of the bridge, waiting to shake his
brother's hand. They grow up so quickly. While there is some relief on
my part to be done with this chapter of his life, I look forward to his
time in the Troop. Just as I am taking off all the patches on his shirt to
represent his new beginning, I go from feeling somewhat knowledgeable
about Cub issues to feeling very unsure about Troop issues. I want to
thank my friends on this List, without who's support on what to do and how
to handle the tough ones, I would never have made it through Cub Scouts so
successfully. I look forward to my chats on future Boy Scout issues.
