The Scoutmaster's Staff had a little discussion last night concerning the lack of enthusiasm that the boys have with Scouting.
We are pushing to have a boy run Troop, but, the boys seem that they would rather have us entertain them. There is very little motivation in the PLC to plan or run meetings or events. This has been going on for over a year now.
Each Patrol Leader has an Advisor who helps with the planning and prepare. But when it comes time to tango, they ignore all the planning and just play "tag".
example: Last night one Patrol was suppose to, and prepared to, teach cold weather camping skills, instead they taught how to plat "Hackee-Sack". When I asked the Patrol Leader what happened to the original plan, he just shrugged his shoulders and said I don't know.
Leaving the camping trips up to the PLC became a "Walkman" fest.

The big question for list is, "How do you motivate your Junior Leaders".
