Thank you for doing this. It is not that difficult or expensive to do the
electrical
work correctly (I've done most of it it in my back yard) -
outdoor wire, in a conduit, at least 18 inches underground, with
above-ground
covered outdoor outlet. If a camp allows the boys to just string the wires
from
tree to tree - and someone gets killed - I do not think this is a simple
oversight.
In some jurisdictions it might possibly be prosecuted as negligent homicide,
and
the upper end of damages from the civil suit could be astronomical.
Well before camp opens, get the building permit, dig the trench, lay the
conduit
and cable (cold), and get the inspection. Finish the job and get the second
inspection.
I personally think that our scouts are worth the trouble.
