Somewhere in this thread, some scouter mentioned boxers. It was indicated
that he felt it would be more appropriate attire in the event of an
"emergency" situation at scout camp.
His scout camp must be different than ours. At our scout camp, we at
least have to have some form of formal covering over the general groin
region for an instance such as this. Why? the fact is that we have adult
female leader(s) in the campsite during scout camp. It does make a
difference. In the ancient history of scout camp (i.e.: before women at
scout camp), the boxer comment would have been totally correct. But such
is not the case any more.
This is not meant to be construed as a sexist remark, it is just a
statement of fact.
