Acronyms

It has taken me several weeks to figure out what "YiS" means. I won't give
this away and ruin someone else's fun with this puzzle. Being an old hand
at these email discussion lists I already knew what BTW and IMHO meant, but
a while back it took about six months to figure those out. Sometimes I'm a
little slow. Below are a list of acronyms that mean absolutely nothing to
me. I thought computer techies and Pentagon denizens were the only ones
who spoke in acronyms.

(V&C friends of some darn good scouters in FL F&M P)

YiS, IMHO, and may we each attempt to live the SO,SL,SS,SM

I think I know what SMF means now. It is not a SWF nor the accounting and
audit trail from MVS.

I have come to the conclusion after much cogitation and Web Browsing that
Philmont is NOT a place but a happening that could happen in almost any
state. I am fairly convinced that it is not an acronym. I have not quite
figured out what happens at Philmont though. There is much discussion
about Philmont on the net but no explanation of what it is. The SM of our
local Troop once mentioned a desire to go to Philmont but never explained
what he wanted to go there to do.

Here is one from the NCAC Scouter Digest, WLOT. Guess "whot" that means?
Hint, the first letter comes from an acronym familiar to nine and ten year
old cub scouts.

Kind Regards
