"THEY" are....

Terry Slade (tmslade@ACTX.EDU)

For all of you that have asked, =22THEY are the Van Patten Family=22 =
comes from the David Letterman show. The show used to do a bit on =
Thursday where Dave had what was called viewer mail. People would send in =
their questions and Dave would give an answer. Somebody asked the age old =
question of =22Who is THEY?=22 and the answer according to Dave Letterman =
was the Van Patten family. =20
Now your wondering who is the Van Patten family right? Well, the =
family is full of actors, of which the father was the guy that acted in =
the roll of the father on the hit TV show=228 is Enough=22. The two sons =
of the Van Patten family were actors and were also pretty good tennis =
players.
It was just a small skit that the Letterman show did that seems to =
stick in my pityful little mind.. You see, I worked at an NBC station for =
13 years before joining the PBS station here and one of my jobs as an =
Engineer was to monitor the feeds that the network sent to us during my =
shift. The shift I worked most was the 3pm to 1am one that Letterman was =
fed during.
I figure to get on Jepardy some day and little bits of worthless =
infor mation might come in Handy. I guess you would have had to been =
there.
YiS Terry
