When was the last time the Supreme court ruled on a "gay" issue?
The last couple of years the Supreme Court has taken fewer and fewer cases
(about half what it did 20 years ago) and many of them are where different
appeals courts have taken different positions. Since this case seems
entirely about a state law and the state supreme court was unanimous, the
court seems unlikely to take it.

The Chartered Partner I wonder about is the Latter-Day Saints (Mormon).
Church policy is apparently that if you are gay and remain celibate, you
can be a member of the church in good standing. I have no doubt that the
Unitarian-Universalists would allow it...
