Our troop closes the meeting by retiring the colors, reciting the
Scout Oath or Law, announcements, and my Scoutmaster's minute.

Announcements by adults have been a problem in that they tend to
run on and on (even without the song), and every once in a while
I try to reinstitute the policy of having all announcements written
and handed to the SPL. That works well for a couple of meetings,
and then the adults forget....
