Responding to Philip Conroy's response to my comments,

>The Salvation Army Scouts are actually part of Scouts Canada. The Salvation
>Army is just their sponsor, much in the same way the LDS sponsors many
groups.

>The two Scout organizations are:
>Scouts Canada; and
>les Association des Scout du Canada (ASC)

>The ASC primarily operates in French and as such are not too well known
>outside of eastern Canada. Their Western District office is in Edmonton,
>and they have at least one group in Vancouver and another in Cold Lake,
>Alberta

Although the Salvation Army Scout Association is alot smaller than
L'Association des Scouts du Canada, they do exist as another separate
entity.

Both these organizations are represented within Scouts Canada by appointing
their own members to sit as members of the National Council of Scouts Canada
(Salvation Army has one appointed member, and ASC has three).

Although the Salvation Army Scout Association uses most of the Scouts Canada
program, it is not a sponsor in the usual sense.

This is my understanding, anyways...
