Cost of Woodbadge

Went to Woodbadge earlier this year, it was ok. Met up with some of the
participants last week at camp anfd we compared tickets, progress of
completion and how things were going in general. One item mentioned by one
individual was he was still trying to figure out what the $140.00 fee went
for. We got a new scarf (green), and a lether name tag. All the staff
were volunteers, we certainly did not get $140.00 worth of food (more on
this) and all the handouts we received were copy machine made and of poor
quality (one exception - a copy provided by one individual was done on a
high quality color laser printer). Since the question was brought up I
have actually wondered what the money went for. Is this a standard fee?
Does the rate vary from council to council?
Food - we were told that the food was from a standard menu that all
Woodbadge courses must use. Even I find that hard to believe. I saw no
challenge to the meals we were provided, some of the items such as hot dogs
are not even allowed for my troop when anyone is working on a cooking
skill. Is the menu a standard fair for all woodbadge courses? Do all
weeked courses have to supply thier own food and do a feast the last weekend?
Just trying to calibrate my BS detectors.....
