When my daughter Jeannie was about five years old, she always liked to
>try new things. One morning she attempted to pour herself a glass of
>milk from a nearly full gallon jug. I was standing nearby knowing that
>there was going to be a bit of a mess, but wanted her to try anyway.
>
>Well, sure enough, milk splashed out and over the table. Wanting to be
>patient and encouraging, I said, "That's OK, honey. The important thing
>is that no milk got on the carpet!" Her answer, as she peered over the
>edge of her glass was, "No, the IMPORTANT thing is I got some in the
>glass." Sometimes we miss the REALLY important things, and a child's
>perspective can bring us back to reality.
