A Beautiful Day, A Wedding and Scouts OR An Omen?

Fellow Scouters please excuse my selfishness but, I just had to share
this with all of you.

Last week my fiance (Dawn), her eight year old (our new Webelos Scout,
Sean), our two year old (Danny boy) and myself took a train ride to
Niagara Falls. Saturday afternoon, Dawn and I tied the knot in
Niagara Falls State Park with the Niagara River and the roaring
Niagara Falls in the background and our two beautiful little boys
by our sides. It was a moment I'll remember always.

Earlier, when Dawn had put Danny's tie on him he yelled over to me,
"Look Daddy, I'm a Cub Scout". The three of us got quite a kick out of
him. Aside from the fact that the little guy melted my heart right there on
the spot, I was awakened to a surprising fact. Here while I've been
spending all this time (you know, that one hour a week!?) with Sean, his
den and the pack it never occurred to me that any of it was having much
of an effect on Danny. My God, he's only two years old. But, he already
has good enough feelings about what his big brother and Daddy
(that's me!) have been doing that he wants to be part of it. (Well, come
to think of it, he does crawl and walk in and out of my legs at Pack Night
while I'm trying to do my Cubmaster thingee. Hmmmmmmm, a future
Cubmaster?)

Later, as we were doing the newlywed photo thing a group of Boy
Scouts walked by. I wanted to wander over and chat with their leaders
but, the old Evil Eye (ya'll must know about that!) told me to rethink
that idea. (So, the instinct for self preservation took over.)

Anyway, it looked like their troop # was 261. I didn't get too close a
look and couldn't tell what their council patch said. So, if any of you
were there or know who those guys were please extend them my
greetings and appologies. (I HAD to look at the bigger picture!)

It seemed to me like them showing up when they did gave our union
the Scout's Blessing.

And don't feel TOO bad for Dawn. After all, she is already my
Assistant Cubmaster. Hee! Hee! Where do you think I started my
"delegation training" anyway?
