I used illness like a physician told me once. Their brain has an illness.
Just like someone with cancer or other disease. It is an illness. It is
also a disability. Why tell a child he is disabled. Make him aware of the
disease/illness/disorder and help your child work around it and be a better
person BECAUSE of the disease/illness/disorder.
