Definition of Venture Cew Ultimate Adventure

Marcia Trudeau (MarciaTX@AOL.COM)
Sun, 2 May 1999 19:48:54 EDT

As our Venture Patrol gets more and more active, I am guiding them towards
the "ultimate adventure" so they can earn their speciality pins, such as
backpacking, along with the "V". An ultimate adventure could be their High
Adventure. I feel that an ultimate adventure could also be an activity that
requires considerable planning, budgeting, training to get ready for it, and
something out of the ordinary.

I need to get some feedback on your definition. Right now we are working on
backpacking. It will be their first weekend campout where they backpack.
They have a long ways to go, therefore, I feel that earning the V and the
pins should be when they have learned and practiced the skill, and then go on
an outing that will demand those skills.

What do you think??

Thanks
