Re: Air Mattresses

I own a self-inflating full length Slumberjack sleeping pad that I purchased
on sale at a discount sporting and camping goods store and I have been very
pleased with it. Several people have commented to me negatively regarding
its weight in excess of a 3/4 length closed-cell foam pad; but I think that
the extra comfort more than makes up for the few extra ounces.

This pad inflates to about an inch thick. If it has been stored rolled for
a while the interior spongy padding will compress and may require some oral
inflation the first night you use it, but by the second night it will
self-inflate as soon as you open the valve.

I am actually on my second pad -- the first one developed a minor problem
and Slumberjack replaced it free and set me a free camping pillow as
compensation for the inconvenience.

I would recommend you concentrate on "among other places" over Campmoor. My
experience, and yours may well be different, is that if I shop around I can
always find a better price than Campmoor -- especially when I factor in
Campmoor's shipping fee.

. . . I would like to buy one of the those self-inflating air mattresses
that
I've seen advertised in the Campmoor catalog among other places. Does
anyone else here own one? What has been you experience with it as
far as comfort? What thickness would you recommend? . . .
