Re: 5th graders

We always let the Patrol decide when to bridge; one year, this resulted
in 2 bridging ceremonies. One at Blue & Gold and one the following Pack
meeting. But, it's the boys' call.

The same goes for the number of activity pins. Some dens want 'em all;
some don't.

At the beginning of the second year of the Webelos program, we gave out
flash cards to each boy. On these were the questions & answers to the
questions the new Scout would need to know to get his Scout
rank--everything but the knot.

We then held a board of review for the Webelos, so they'd get an idea
of what to expect. this was followed by a pizza-laden campout
celebrabration that night.

As Roundtable Commish, i put on 2 Webelo-to-Scout Transition programs a
year, with different people & info for each one. This month, we had 8
Webelo leaders wondering "What do I do now?" I think they left with a
lot of good ideas.
