I have a copy of the "Bluejackets' Manual," twelfth edition.

It is listed as Revised by Bill Bearden and Bill Wedertz, United States
Naval Institute, Annapolis, Maryland.

It is Copyright 1979 by the United States Naval Institute, Annapolis,
Maryland. Previous editions Copyrighted 1973, 1968, 1965, 1963, 1961, 1958,
1951, 1944, 1943, 1938. First Edition Published in 1902.

Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 3-1595
ISBN: 0-87021-112-9

Fifth Printing with Corrections, 1980.

I don't know how much it is used. You might check with a Naval Recruiter
(unless some Naval person is out there with an answer).. I've never been
in the military, so I don't know if it is still used.

I acquired my copy from the City Recycling Center. Our troop works one
weekend per month at the center helping people unload vehicles. This was
in with a collection of books someone had dropped off (hoping to recycle
them) and was being stored because no one knew what to do with them. I
"recycled" it into my library because it looked interesting. I haven't had
a chance to look completely thought it, but I'm glad I acquired it.

Yours in Scouting,

Scott A. Begin Troop 348, Oak Forest, IL, Calumet Council
