Re: A Successful Blue and Gold

BOYS!!
That's what is important. A lot of adult leader tend to forget that, it's
easy to do when it's a group of adults sitting at the table. We took over a
Pack that was pretty much "getting by" When we started programs the boys
liked, we saw pretty much the same result. Boys who were quitting -- stayed.
We even had scouts crossover that were intending on leaving scout after Blue &
Gold. Our Blue & Gold was at a wedding hall...that wedding food again! This
was my first B&G, my impression...I spent most of the night trying to keep my
children acting like adults! You get the feeling that you are at a wedding
and you tend to want them to behave like they are at a wedding. The next year
we moved it to the school gym, got food they like (even Mac & Cheese) and got
free entertainment. The parents loved it, the boys were allowed to be a
little looser. But most importantly the boys had FUN!

Anyone have suggestions for FREE entertainment at B&G?
We had the Sheriff dept. come out with their k-9.
