(Re)Introduction

I had joined this list over a year ago and went on hiatus due to other
increasing commitments. As I read some of the posts regarding the cargo
pants, I realized that I was perceived as a male leader.

I am a mother of two Life Scouts and one Brownie. I am currently the ASM
for our Troop, Secty/Treas. for our Committee, Advisor for our Crew, (We
are the Southwinds Native American Dance Team) Junior Girl Scout Leader,
Brownie, Cadette & Senior Girl Asst. Leader, and Unit Commissioner.

I did not intend to start an issue over the surplus cargo pants, merely
point out how utilitarian they are on camp/hike trips. I appreciated all
the feedback and suggestions on the subject. Some very kind people on
the list have indicated a willingness to help us put together a uniform
bank. I also plan on 'scouting' around the thrift shops in bigger cities
as I travel.

I can appreciate the feelings about uniforms, however at this time am not
unduly worried about our boys having all the components. We are doing
well just to have a program out here. What I really need is more adult
volunteers! So... anyone wanting to move out to sleepy lil' ol' Marfa
where there are no gangs and you don't have to lock your doors...
