"Official" Cargo Shorts Alternative

jay.thal (jay.thal@TCS.WAP.ORG)

Not only are the new "quasi-gangsta" knee-length cargo shorts ugly
(opinion) but they are now even more expensive (fact)!!

(could their length, together with the new "Ladies" (not women's) skirt
#W900, serve another agenda?) (speculation)

1998 - Youth, 23.75; Husky, 25.95; Adult, 28.60; 52+, 33.95
1999 - Youth, 29.10; Husky, 31.50; Adult, 36.60; 52+, 42.00

That's a 22-24% increase!! (more for the retirement fund?; or, high
royalties for the fashion (?) design team?) (curiosity)

Trousers went up 26% for Youth , 9% for Adults.

Shirts, long and short sleeved went up 3%.

Oh Yes, an "Official" ALTERNATIVE....

Few things are more "BSA" than Philmont. The "Official" Philmont Ranger
Shorts are costing out at $28.00 - no youth sizes. Made by Columbia
(?), they are good looking; comfortable for the trail; have many deep
pockets; and, are double thickness for wear. They're cotton, not a
fast-dry fabric. Tan in color with a Philmont logo.
