Before you start replacing the whole zipper. Check your outfitter for a
zipper repair kit. I purchased one of these once. I've found that even
though I don't always use the parts that are enclosed in the kit, the
pamphlet on how to repair a zipper has proven it's value time and time
again. I have zipper windows on my Jeep, which any Jeep owner will
tell you the stress that they are under and how they stop working. With
common tools you can make IMHO amazing repairs.
