In many districts, including my own, we use the West knot as a tribute
fund raiser. Each year, we secretly select a deserving Scouter to honor
and solicit donations in that person's honor. When we reach the $1000
we buy that person the knot. It's a fine way to honor the Scouter and
to raise money for the Council.
