Or is the problem that WEEEE adults are angry that the parents put one
over on
us and WEEEEE are putting in the time and they aren't? Are we primarily
involved to help youth for whatever reason they come, or is our principal
goal
keeping parental timecards to make sure that no parent is getting a free
ride.

Neil,
I agree. I had a discussion with a WEBELOS II leader who was
concerned about her den of 7 crossing over next Spring. Her concern is
that the duration of her Den Leader term, she had very little if any help
from the parents, and she didn't want to burden me with the same
frustration.
But as I told her, even though we are over taxed in time as leaders (3 out
of 4 active leaders don't have sons in a troop of 24 active youths), we
feel it's important that all boys who want Scouting should receive
Scouting. Somewhere along the line we'll work out. Maybe we'll get a
leader from another Pack that might cross over. (fingers crossed and
recruiting like mad)
