Overwhelmed by Scout-L information

Well, yes, I to bypass all of those discussions about pinewood derby
tracks. But I do read the posts about cub advancement, child protection,
Webeloes pins, and picking a troop. As a troop leader, I am interested in
the Cub program and what others are doing. What can I expect when I get
crossovers? What experiences did these boys have? What did the parents do
in the cub program that might make them good candidates for troop
leadership? All of these questions are important when I am planning to
integrate new scouts and their parents into the troop.

There are different programs for boys of different ages. But there is only
one scouting program that lasts from grade 1 to age 21. BSA has designed
that program as various stages and age level programs. Troop membership is
part of that program. So my work is only part of that program. I need to
be interested in the parts that come both before and after to make sure
that I am doing the "middle" the correct way to keep the transitions going
smoothly.

Splitting the discussion into parts would not serve what I need to know to
keep my program in line.
