Why a "separate patrol", Phil?? The old Senior Scout "designation"
just meant that a youth was "old enough" for Exploring and all of
the other "senior youth programs" in and outside of his Troop.

They were STILL members of their Patrol but they got to participate
in SPECIAL activities and events, put on by National, by the old 12
Regions, by local Councils and their Districts and if the Troop was
large enough, by the Troop itself!!

There was no need to organize a special "Senior Patrol", one of the
things I really dislike about the BSA's intent on creating "new
patrol groupings" within the existing Troop structure.

That's great and I think that's the intent in part of the old
Leadership Corps program. But the Senior thing was REALLY NEAT (the
program changed before I turned 14 and we lost the Senior strip and
the specialness of allowing "Senior Scouts and Explorers" to take
part in special Council and national events and activities!).
