I'll put on my other uniform, the one with the red shoulder loops, for my
Troop Committee Member position.
When we had all four Webelos from a nearby pack join the troop last
Spring they were split equally between our two patrols. Not only is this
our usual practice, but it also reinforced the practice of putting brothers
(twins, this time) in different patrols; this would've been impossible if we
did that "new boy patrol" thing.
Now back to silver shoulder loops away from my "home" unit.
I've seen it done both ways and they both work. A lot of it depends on
how many new boys you get. If you don't get a full patrol, forget it. But
that's just my opinion; I may be wrong. (Not likely!)
