To all:
There is life after Eagle!!!!! We have been running a Venture patrol for our
older scouts for the past 5 years. Before we formed a separate Venturing
Crew, we had one Venture patrol (11-12 graders) with fourteen active scouts
(most were Eagle or almost Eagle) and one Venture patrol (9-10 graders) with
17 active scouts (Star and Life). The Venture patrols work on some pretty
exciting merit badges like Crime Prevention, Aviation, Rifle Shooting (black
powder), Cinematrography, Auto Mechanics. We also have three Venture only
outings a year plus a week long high adventure trek each summer. Eagle is
just a stepping stone on a boy's Scouting career, not the final destination.
