I don't think yours is the only pack with that policy. Ours doesn't allow boys
to carry knives either. The only time they can have a knife at a scout event
is when their leader has asked them in advance to bring it for a whittling
project. We are very sensitive to the knife issue...especially with the zero
tolerance stance that the local schools have regarding knives.
