Re: Scouting For Food

Hi all,

I was our district's coordinator for Scouting for Food this year, and
since we are a new district, we don't really have a baseline to compare
to. However, we collected a total of 15.5 tons of food, delivered to 5
"official" food banks and several others that units wanted to take their
collections to. I don't know how this stacks up against other drives in
our part of the old GW district, NCAC, but we were prettypleased. It
does serve as a baseline for future years, however.

My own unit collected about 500 pounds of food total, compared to about
350 last year. However, we did have a cub pack that collected over 3300
pounds, and three other units that collected over a ton each.

So, I'd say that we did okay for our first time out of the gate.

YiS,

Peter Farnham (and a good old Beaver, Too)
