Down here in Fredericksburg we have experianced trhe same thing with
Scouting for Food. Last year our pack collected over 600 pounds of
food, this year we only collected about 360 pounds from the same area.
One of the problems I noticed is that an abundance of other
organizations chose the same time to conduct a food drive. In
particular a very large church in the neighborhood which we are located
had just conducted a canned food drive the week before. As others have
mentioned, some coordination among organizations would realy help when
conducting food drives.
