In our troop we have troop tents. When you reach the rank of 1st class, you
earn the privledge of bringing your own tent and sleeping by yourself
(depending on the campout).
It seems to be a great motivator. We have had several boys get to first
class to get their own tents. Some prefer to sleep by themselves, some
prefer to have a tent mate. In all cases, all the boys are willing to
accept a tent mate if the need arises.
