Ad Altari Dei Awards Ceremonies

Kevin Simpson (west660@PACBELL.NET)

Just wanted to add a few points to this discussion.

Generally, the best place to present the religious awards is at the
church. I was presented my Ad Altari Dei by the bishop (smaller
diocese) at the Cathedral. Sometimes, though, it is impractical to do
these things. In smaller population/rural diocese or diocese without
an organized/standard award ceremony, it is sometimes impractical to
have the presentation at the Cathedral, but at the local parish, even at
the troop meeting.

This program, as in all of them, is what we make of it. It should
always be impressive and special for the boy. The place does not matter
because the scouts learn about an opportunity for them, either way, and
public, if you play your cards right, will hear about it through the
local newspaper or church bulletin.
