I'm curious about troops using small tents. I just "inherited" a small
troop of 14 scouts that has two large 6-8 man tents - not much use for
backpacking, but works fine for "trailer trips." I stick one patrol in
each tent.
For troops with strong patrol emphasis, I foresee some problems when you
use small tents. The nighttime seems important for patrol unity. Do you
require or encourage patrols to group together in pitching their tents?
What about when boys are close to someone in the other patrol and want to
share tents?
What about the boy who no one invites to share a tent?
