Fwd:Scoutmasters minute, A check on ourselves.

A Scoutmaster friend of mine told me while he was at the donut shop the other
day, a boy in his late teens got up to make a call on the pay phone behind him.
He wasn't trying to listen in but couldn't help hear the conversation that went
like this. Hello, I am calling to apply for your sells position. Oh you already
have someone? Well, I work very hard and I can be trusted to be aggressive to
make lots of sells. Oh you already have someone like that? OK, thank you for
your time. As the teenage boy sat down, my Scoutmaster friend wanted to help
give him some comforting words. He said, I am sure there are many other places
that will gladly hire you. The boy said, "I already have a job, that was my
boss, I was just checking to see how I was doing!"

Have you ever thought about checking to see how you are doing? Have you wondered
what your parent would say if you called them to apply for the job as their son?
What if you called your Patrol Leader or Senior Patrol Leader and applied for
your position in the Troop? Would he want to replace you? A Scouts is duty bound
to do his best. Not just his best at Scout activities, but his best with his
family, school work and church as well. A Scout is duty bound to do his best all
they time and for everyone. Are you doing your best? What would your parents or
teacher say? My Scoutmaster friend said the teenage boy was grinning from ear to
ear while eating his donut.
