District Derbies

The best District Race I've heard about used a two lane track with timers. Each
car only raced twice, once down each lane. Then the average or total time, I
can't remember which, is posted on a screen or wall where everyone can see it
with the fastest cars at the top. Very suspenseful and everyone knows who the
winner is after the last car races. No finals are required, very quick and very
fair. I would not do this for Pack Races because the Scouts should see their
cars race a lot. But it's great for a District Derby where you have to race a
lot of cars in a reasonable time.
