? for LDS Scouters

John Conley (ITI@FRONTIERNET.NET)

A question for all the LDS Scouters on the list:

Palmyra, Hill Cummorah(sp?), the Smith House, and the related historic
sites are located within my Council, probably about 30 miles from our
summer camp.

Do you think there would be any interest around the country if we did
something along these lines:

Make some arrangement for LDS units to spend a week at our summer camp,
(not a bad camp, honest) with special arrangements to attend the Pageant
one night, and maybe visit a couple of other historic sites at some
point during the week?

This is a very embyonic idea, and we would have some logistical
problems to iron out even if there is interest out there. Not the
least of these is that our camp isn't exactly under-attended as it is.
Also, I'm not terribly familiar with your religion, so there may be some
reason why this is a horribly bone-headed idea. If you promise not to
take offense if I've suggested something dumb, I promise not to take
offense when you tell me so ;^)

If somebody could forward this over to the LDS Scouting list, I would
appreciate it. Replies should probably be private; I can't imagine
this having a broad appeal outside LDS circles.

YiS,
