Our District Advancement Chair did a camporee for the District that the
boys are screaming for again. He did a Railroad Camporee where the
local railroad company took the boys in on a steam engine and the
boys had to dress in theme and stay in theme while they were there.
He even had people on the Train that were actors and one of our boys
even ended up getting married to one of the "floozys" in a shot gun
wedding!

While they were there, we had hobos, we had loggers and we even had
a sherrif's posse. The boys had to think about how the type of group
that they portrayed would actually live and live that way. They werent
allowed fancy backpacks or anything else that they use nowadays to
camp.

Look for a writeup about this event in Scouting Magazine in the future!
They were there to take pictures and visit with the boys through this
event!

Just goes to show, with a little thinking, normal camporees can take on
a whole new light :-)

Good luck!
