Althought there are training outlines for these offerings both usually
become whatever your local council and training staff decide to include
in their program that year.
Commissioner College is a 3-5 year program that offers "degrees" in
commissioneing up through the Doctorate, with increasing levels of
competence and difficulty offered/required for each step. The Batchelor
degree is just a bit more than what might be offered as basic
commissioner training, and the stuff covered in the later levels would
be practical material and administration.
University of Scouting is somewhat like PowWow in that it offers
additional training and resources that are helpful in running a scouting
progam for the boys. Courses I have enjoyed included ones of wood
carving, camping, internet resources, and troop program enhancement.
They are also a good chance to get together with other scouters and
share experiences and wisdom.
